Baby Photo Tip: Backgrounds
Kissy Kissy
February 18, 2016

Getting a great picture of your little one can be challenging, what with the wiggling and squirming. And while there are some things you can't control (like getting your little pumpkin to smile on cue), there are others that you can pre-plan to ensure that great shot.

Our latest baby photography tip is to create an appealing background.

  1. If there's too much going on in the background, it can distract the viewer from your baby, so try to keep things calm. A solid color blanket works well.
  2. Of course, you can go for a backdrop that adds a little personality to the shot without detracting from it. For instance, your baby's crib sheet might have an appealing repeated pattern.
  3. Finally, don't be afraid of adding texture like a faux fur throw to give your shot dimension.

By giving your background a little thought, you'll be able to improve the quality of your pictures—and keep the focus on your precious little one!
